After all, checking is what one can do if they want to pass the bet to another player, but keep theirs in their hand. So in other words, the player that passed the first bet has to face a check.
When one gets a check: it is considered as a raise, which is not allowed in the game of poker. This is also known as having weak hands. What does check mean in Poker? The following is an example.
Let us say you have Tom, a new player, in your hand: You take a high hand and ask him to raise. Tom does the raise, so you now have a hand worth two chips with your opponent having only one chip. You can now use this one chip hand to take out your opponents’ hand and take the pot. So now, you are the winner because you took out a higher hand than theirs with limited cards for them to take.
So when the two players have finished playing and they have checked: the pot is split evenly between them. The new player did not have the hand advantage because he did not have the highest hand. Also, because the pot was split, both players now know that they have limited cards with which to take their opponents. It is important to remember that when both players check, the pot is still split and neither player has an advantage. Therefore, the check is considered as an imposable check which is an action that is strictly not allowed.
